Customer Support Associate

Work on the front lines of a growing educational brand interacting with customers and their families. A perfect role for a candidate who loves helping people and working in a fast-paced, close-knit, startup environment. Customer service is the “voice” of Raddish for members and prospects, and we’ve cultivated a reputation for providing personal, responsive support.

Beyond this individual touch, the Customer Support Associate has a measurable impact on acquisition and retention rates, so we seek someone motivated to unlock the true ROI of this critical company function. You’ll use your skills as a communicator, researcher, problem-solver, and systems-organizer to work collaboratively across multiple areas – marketing, operations, website product, and policy – to support the company’s mission to deliver culinary experiences that nurture kids’ confidence in the kitchen and beyond. The Customer Support Associate works closely with the marketing and operations teams, reporting to the CMO.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Become an expert on Raddish products, prospects, and customers developing a sixth sense for member and prospect needs across email, phone, and social media platforms
  • Proficiency with Zendesk or similar CRM software
  • Answer incoming customer phone calls and responding to voicemails
  • Respond to questions via Live Chat function on website
  • Available to monitor customer inquiries off-hours including evenings, weekends and high volume periods such the holiday season, responding to most urgent requests and guarding against the buildup of an unmanageable backlog
  • Monitor social media and reply to inquiries; help administrate thriving Facebook Group community of over 5,000 members
  • Create transcripts or templates for customer service inquiries, seek automated solutions and technical implementations when possible
  • Execute and report on customer surveys to gauge brand strength through metrics like Net Promoter Score
  • Build out CRM reporting function providing company-wide visibility into performance metrics and areas for improvement
  • Quickly and thoroughly solve problems for customers when deliveries, renewals, transactions or experience don't go 100% as planned
  • Demonstrate an empathetic understanding of the customer’s question/problem, strive to completely answer the inquiry with a minimum of back and forth messages, and utilize a tone and voice that reflects the Raddish brand.
  • Provide thoughtful communication that is clear and well-written, free of grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, etc and echoes our company tone and philosophy
  • Provide thoughtful and strategic insight regarding product and customer needs to reduce churn and increase revenue
  • Assist with administrative tasks including charter school data input and invoicing, donation requests, etc.


This position requires a creative and highly detailed self-starter responsible for innovating, implementing and executing across multiple teams and areas.  As a start-up celebrating creativity, food, and family, we expect the same from our team.  We seek team players with an infectiously positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and improve.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have genuine passion for our mission to inspire the next generation through edible education, and enthusiasm for growing a business – both strategically and tactically.
  • 1-3 years CRM and/or Help Desk experience in a position directly interacting with consumers.
  • Have exceptional organization, operational, and detail-oriented traits.
  • Succeed as a collaborative team player, while being motivated to multi-task independently and proactively on projects from start to completion. You’ll be a resourceful and flexible part of a nimble team.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working on developing projects – with a clear vision for the ‘big picture’.
  • Be a personable, entrepreneurial, honest, problem-solving decision maker, comfortable operating in the unknown and excited about what lies ahead.
  • Have proficient MS Office skills, (especially Excel), basic graphic design/video skills (such as Photoshop or Canva and iMovie), and working knowledge of basic business systems.
