Each Baking kit features: 2 laminated recipe cards with 12-step “Quick Bake” and an 18-step “Star Bake”, decorative items, a quality kitchen tool, 3 culinary skills included with each recipe, a fun game on the folder to complete every month, creative activity to expand on the monthly theme, study shopping list card to take to the store, table talk cards to spark dinner conversation, and woven iron-on apron patch.
What types of recipes are included in the Baking Club?
Raddish Kids Baking Club recipes are designed to be fun, delicious, and creative.
Recipe Variety: baking kits include two illustrated, step-by-step Recipe Guides: a 12-step “Quick Bake” and an 18-step “Star Bake.” Recipes includes classic sweets, like pies, cakes, and cookies; gourmet treats, like éclairs, tarts, and cake pops; occasionally breakfast items; and a few savory baked goods.
Kid-friendly focus: recipes feature age-appropriate steps, simple-to-learn techniques, and approachable ingredients. Step-by-step instructions are drawn out making it easy for visual learners or young chefs learning to read.
Dietary Info: baking recipes currently do not have dietary modifications like our cooking and global clubs. Nuts are used very occasionally.
Skill-building: recipes include kid-appropriate cooking skills that allow young chefs to learn everything from the basics, like measuring ingredients and kneading dough, to advanced skills, like separating eggs, piping, and making a lattice.
Is food included?
Ingredients are not included in Raddish kits. As opposed to a meal delivery service, Raddish is an expertly curated cooking curriculum that enables children to learn more about the food they eat, gain the skills to prepare unfamiliar dishes, and enjoy a complete kitchen experience with their family.
By excluding ingredients, families can customize recipes with items they prefer, involve kids in grocery shopping, and cook anytime with fresh ingredients on hand.
Each month, we email you a shopping list for the upcoming recipes before your kit ships (see a sample). Ingredient lists are available at anytime in your Raddish+ account on any mobile device. Our ingredients are typically easy to find in a local grocery store.
Do you accomodate for dietary restrictions?
Because our kits don’t include ingredients, families can easily substitute or use what works best for their dietary needs or allergies.
Cooking Club & Global Eats Club: we provide dietary modifications for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and egg-free diets. We rarely use nuts and if we do, they are always optional. These can be found on our website under the "Bonus Bites" section.
Baking Club: dietary modifications are not currently provided. Please note that some recipes may include nuts.
Do the baking kits use artificial dye?
Our baking kits do not include ingredients, so when food dye is used for a recipe, families can choose the option that works best for them. The included decoration items may occasionally include artificial food dye, but are always optional to use.
What age is Raddish for?
Raddish Clubs are designed for kids ages 4-14+. Younger kids will enjoy cooking alongside an adult, while older kids can work more independently.
Cooking Club (4-14+): the most accessible membership for preschool and early elementary ages, offering a balance of familiar recipes and new flavors.
Global Eats Club (6-14+): introduces new flavors and educational activities that appeal to elementary ages and older kids.
Baking Club (8-14+): features a Quick Bake and Star Bake recipe. The quick bake can be accessible for younger children, while the Star Bake involves more steps and advanced skills, which may require more adult support for younger children and novice bakers.
What is Raddish Plus?
Raddish Plus is our digital recipe platform, where you can access the vault of Raddish recipes from your computer or other device. Raddish Plus also features our step-by-step, fully illustrated recipe guides, with the convenience of being able to access them at any time, from anywhere.
Raddish Plus comes free with any club membership. Additionally, you can purchase Raddish Plus digital access without having to receive a monthly kit in the mail. Sign up here.
Can I skip a month?
If you do not want to receive a kit for a certain month, you can skip for one month at a time. Log into your account by clicking "my account" on the top right of the website. Then, enter your email and password and click on "memberships" in the top right in the blue bar. Next, click the "Edit" button next to the subscription in which you want to skip a month. You will then choose "Skip Next Shipment" on the right.
