What is Food Revolution Day? Food Revolution Day is an annual day of global action designed to educate children about food --- whether that's learning how to cook from scratch, finding out where their food comes from, knowing what's in season or understanding how it affects their bodies. Ultimately, its a day to have fun and cook with kids (what a RAD mission!).
Why is it important? Food Revolution Day celebrates the importance of cooking good food from scratch and raises awareness of how it impacts our health and happiness. Over 70 countries participate in this campaign started by the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation.
Schools, community organizations, businesses and individuals will hold events designed to educate children in a fun and engaging way. Events range from cooking classes, picnics, farm tours, and more! Local event listings can be found on social media and a worldwide cooking lesson will stream online.
How can my family participate? There are many simple ways to celebrate FRD! Start by cooking with your kids or simply trying a new ingredient! Plant a seed or read a recipe together. Host a cooking party play date (check out our Raddish Cooking Boxes for Groups) or take a trip the grocery store or farmers market (have fun with our Grocery Store Scavenger Hunt). Raddish is a cooking club for kids! Created with a mission of bringing families together in the kitchen and at the table, our monthly thematic cooking kits take the guesswork out of cooking with kids while creating delicious kitchen memories along the way. Raddish is designed by a team of educators and chefs who believe the kitchen classroom is the tastiest place to learn. Join our membership today!
