Dietary Modifications for Cozy Cafe

We strive to accommodate the needs of all families. Below please find recommended substitutes for our Rad-Families with dietary restrictions, compliments of VeegMama, a lifestyle blog sharing new approaches to healthy living through food, wellness, and personal fulfillment.

Gluten Free
Gourmet Grilled Cheese >> Use gluten-free bread.
Hearty Minestrone Soup >> Use gluten-free pasta.
Jumbo Oatmeal Cookies >> Use gluten-free flour and oats, such as Bob’s Red Mill.

Dairy Allergy
Gourmet Grilled Cheese >> Use a non-dairy butter, such as Earth Balance. Use a non-dairy cheese, such as Daiya Cheddar Slices or Go Veggie Cheddar Slices instead of cheddar, and Chao Slices or Miyoko’s Kitchen’s Aged English Smoked Farmhouse (or any of their other varieties) in place of gouda or muenster.
Hearty Minestrone Soup >> Use a prepared pesto that is dairy free or try a homemade recipe, such as my Basil Pesto.
Jumbo Oatmeal Cookies >> Use a non-dairy butter, such as Earth Balance.

Vegetarian
Gourmet Grilled Cheese >> Replace the ham and turkey with a meat alternative, such as Field Roast Deli Slices or Tofurky Deli Slices (or omit altogether and just use cheese.)

Vegan
Gourmet Grilled Cheese >> Replace the ham and turkey with a meat alternative, such as Field Roast Deli Slices or Tofurky Deli Slices (or omit altogether and just use one of the following non-dairy cheeses.) Use a non-dairy butter, such as Earth Balance. Use a non-dairy cheese, such as Daiya Cheddar Slices or Go Veggie Cheddar Slices instead of cheddar, and Chao Slices or Miyoko’s Kitchen’s Aged English Smoked Farmhouse (or any of their other varieties) in place of gouda or muenster.
