Substitutions

We strive to accommodate the needs of all families. Below please find recommended substitutes for our Rad-Families with dietary restrictions, compliments of VeegMama, a lifestyle blog sharing new approaches to healthy living through food, wellness, and personal fulfillment.

Gluten-Free

Festive Fondue Dessert >> For dippers, use gluten free pretzels and cookies.

Holiday Breakfast Bake >> Use gluten-free bread instead of a French or Italian bread.

 Dairy Allergy

Festive Fondue Dessert >> Use coconut cream (in a can) instead of heavy cream.  Be sure to use the cream, and not the light coconut milk.  Use dairy free chips, such as Enjoy Life (http://enjoylifefoods.com/) for dark chips, and Vegan Essentials (veganessentials.com) for white chips.

Holiday Breakfast Bake >> In place of milk, half and half, and eggs, place 14 ounces of tofu (drained), 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast, and ½ cup water in a food processor.  Process until smooth and use instead of the egg/milk mixture. Use Daiya pepperjack cheese shreds (instead of Monterey Jack).  Bake for 30-40 minutes.

White Winter Chicken Chili >> For the garnish, use Daiya cheddar cheese shreds (daiyafoods.com) and Tofutti sour cream.

 Vegetarian

Holiday Breakfast Bake >> Use vegan breakfast sausage such as Field Roast (fieldroast.com).

White Winter Chicken Chili >> Instead of chicken, use Beyond Meat’s Beyond Chicken Lightly Seasoned Strips (beyondmeat.com).  Use vegetable broth or Imagine’s no-chicken broth instead of chicken broth.
